He was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco in 1973. In 1980 he studied with Miguel A. López Medina at CEDART-INBA. In 1990 at El Nigromante (INBA) in San Miguel Allende, Gto.; at the School of Fine Arts of the U de G. and at the Instituto Cultural Cabañas. In Guadalajara his teachers were: Luis E. González, Raymundo Ramírez and Genaro Velázquez. In Guanajuato he studied with: Luis Nishisawa; in Mexico City with Pedro Medina Guzmán "El CharroÓ and with Patricia Soriano at San Carlos. Luis Rodrigo Medina Caraballo began his studies and contact with the artistic community at an early age. He undertook a one-year study trip to Europe and Cameroon in Central Africa in 1996, strengthening his artistic vocation; he ventured into various disciplines such as: diseño escenográfico, modeling, drawing, watercolor and printmaking. He went to study in San Miguel Allende, Gto. and in Mexico City, where he stayed for a year in the human figure drawing workshop with Pedro Medina Guzmán."
