The minimalist abstractions of Andreas Diaz Andersson, created with cotton thread on canvas, are defined as much by their harmonious use of lines and color as by the negative space of the canvas. Executed with exceptional precision and meticulous attention to detail, his works are an exploration of depth and form, oscillating between illusion and abstraction. A constant variation of dynamic geometric patterns and deep vanishing points plays with perception, fluctuating as the viewer sees the work from different angles. In a sense, Díaz Andersson finds himself between two worlds. The influence of his education, first in Sweden and then in Mexico, is evident in his work.
